GPS Training You will lean skills to successfully and reliably navigate with the aid of a topographical map and a GPS receiver. The course is not specific to any make/model of GPS. Many 4WD maps and books contain GPS coordinates to help you navigate safely to many out of the way and difficult to find places of interest. A GPS also adds an extra element of safety when you are in remote areas "you know where you are !!!" The course is oriented to the practical application of GPS skills. It is very hands on so you can confidently use your GPS after completing the course. The course in divided into two parts -
Follow a course set by the instructor that you have entered into your GPS to get to a pre-determined rendezvous. The exact route is up to you. This adds an element of adventure to the day. You have a choice of two routes and are required to travel in teams for safety reasons. You will confer on the choice of route to take and discuss your decision with the instructor.
