Convoy for Kids

Arrived at Huntingwood Drive about 6.50am to a scene of Truck mania, there were trucks as far as the eye could see. We found a safe place to park in the side street, got settled, registered, had a free sausage sanger, coffee and received our free goodies bag courtesy of Franklins.

The Burdett’s and Davoren’s arrived and had to suffer the same hardships. The three LR’s put a comma in the Blue Mountains 4WD Clubs line of 17 vehicles, friendly banter and deep discussions ensured.

After fitting the LR Club banner to Flash’s tray (reverse spinnaker style), we were ready to leave for the 26 klm drive to the Olympic Park Overflow, it filtered back that there were approximately 1000 vehicles in the convoy, so it took about an hour from Huntingwood to parking at the Telstra Dome.

The stalls at the Overflow covered food, souvenirs and memorabilia, as well as simulators and $10 unlimited rides in the kid’s activity area. There was a stage with live music, Sponge Bob Square Pants and various other entertainers/celebrities.

The three LR’s departed the gathering which was still Rockin’ about 12.30 amid words to the effect of “we will” have more LR’s next year.
