Winter on the Bridle Track
Please read this before registering
For club trips, please only put in the number of vehicles that you are bringing on the trip.
If you put down the number of people, it uses up registrations for others.
Day 1 - Sunny Corner to Sofala some bitumen to Hill End and down the beginning of the Bridal Track to the banks of the Macquarie River for overnight camp.
Day 2 - Back up the Bridal Track to Hill End followed by the Dixons Long Point Track to Ophir, across to Root Hog Crossing and then back to Bathurst by the remains of the Bridal Track not traversed the previous day.
The trip is classified as easy/moderate with some steep descents/climbs (no winching unless raining) and several river crossings no deeper than 500mm. Snorkel NOT required. It can be VERY cold in the evening so dress warmly.
As there is limited firewood at the campsite, you should bring what you will need. There are drop toilets but no water supply.
As the Bridle track is very narrow we would like to limit the trip to 8 cars in total …. so get in early!
Anyone who needs somewhere to camp close to Bathurst is welcome to pitch a tent at our place (13 km West of Bathurst) on Friday and/or Sunday nights.
